ABOUT THIS EPISODE

How do you gather divergent thought leaders to tackle compelling social and economic forces confronting the world’s future? Brady Forrest has done that by founding Ignite Talks, a fast-paced presentation series where speakers quickly cover their specialties (speakers have precisely five minutes to “amuse, educate, enlighten, or inspire the audience”). Forrest’s diverse resume spans Microsoft, O’Reilly Media, and innovative investment ventures. In this interview, Dave and Brady move through a wide range of topics, including Stewart Brand’s Long Now Foundation mission, perceptions of cryptocurrency, Generative AI’s rapid rise, the inspiration of Burning Man, and Ignite headlining a new TED Talk series.

“We are standing on the shoulders of the past, and we are stewards for the future.”

-Brady Forrest

Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance.
