ABOUT THIS EPISODE

While many investors remain uncomfortable with innovations in women’s health care, Denise and her guest Marina Gerner are not. Join them to unpack Marina’s new book The Vagina Business, which examines over 100 entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors across 15 countries, all focused on developing ground-breaking new products and services aimed at helping women at every stage of life. In addition to exploring a host of intriguing developments at the cutting edge of women’s health care, Denise and Marina also look at how and why it remains so difficult to deliver these much-needed solutions, and the pioneers seeking to topple the status quo.

“I was talking to startup founders in this space…and I heard again and again that it’s very hard to raise money…because investors…who are predominantly male don’t want to talk about vaginas…I have this quote in the book from one VC investor, ‘I don’t want to talk about vaginas in my Monday morning partner meeting.’” — Marina Gerner

“Men are from Earth, women are from Earth. Deal with it.” — George Carlin
