Pessimism about the future has grown as misinformation proliferates and AI’s disruptive potential is realized. Dave Sifry, an experienced software entrepreneur, focuses on how to avoid such a future. In this episode of Uneven Distribution, recorded in December 2023, Denise and Dave explore the risks of AI misuse, as well as AI’s potential for good and improving efficiency. The conversation includes the unintended consequences of automation, the tendency of AI to hallucinate, the potential for individual learning, and how AI can enhance human connection.
