ABOUT THIS EPISODE

When OpenAI launched in 2015, it had already raised $1 billion from investors like Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Microsoft, and Amazon. To understand the direction of Artificial Intelligence today, what better place to start than the creator of the star tech platform, ChatGPT?

Hearsay Culture Network host Denise Howell joins Dave in this December 2023 discussion. In this broad discussion, they delve into Altman, his dramatic ousting and return to OpenAI and continued pushing of boundaries with a new venture: Worldcoin, a biometric iris cryptocurrency raising serious privacy and fraud concerns. Along the way, they comment on AI’s effect on human tendencies, political divisions, and pornography. More critically, the two scrutinize what Sam Altman may have in store for the world while discussing dangers AI poses to us.

“I can’t think of too many areas of life where AI is not about to permeate our economy.”

    -Denise Howell

“AI will probably most likely lead to the end of the world, but in the meantime, there’ll be great companies.”

     -Sam Altman
